Welcome Home
The Quayle Estate is a grand three-bedroom family home built by Charles & Coral Quayle in 1920. Mr. Quayle was a prominent young attorney while Mrs. Quayle pursued philanthropic activities. She was instrumental in the building of the main library in downtown Oakland. This estate style home was one of the first homes built in the then new development of Maxwell Park and perhaps the most grand. Nearly the entire home has a spectacular view of the San Francisco bay. The house and the gardens have been fully restored to the original 1920 appearance but with all the comforts of the 21st century.
The large public rooms are grand but comfortable and inviting. The two suites and one bedroom are luxuriously appointed for both short and long term stays.
Hospitality
The Italians have a proverb "L´espite e Sacro" the Italian tradition of keeping the house as a temple and the sacredness of hospitality.
It is our goal to treat all guests as honored visitors.
